Buying Pollution Time
Written thinking about all the new carbon trading schemes and how it seems to have changed nothing other than a few balance sheets.
Plug an electric motor into an existing power supply, connect the motor to a electricity generator and see if you end up producing more power than you consume.
If it was that simple we would be doing it now. It is that simple. We don’t simply because of the coal miners daughter, or is it the share holders ?

We have found away to sell it
They have given us the right at law
We can still produce every little bit
No need to worry about the quality of the air
When we can buy a cleaner lot
They are not producing any over there
We just buy that for our pot
It is all one big take and balance
Far cheaper than finding a cleaner means
Someone can gain on the speculators chance
See the winners’ take in the schemes
It is easier for us to continue to pollute
When we can pay another to plant some trees
Than it is to introduce change we can’t refute
Someone will even make a buck out of all the fees
It is a win win for everyone
Just don’t go sniffing in the air
You may not be able to explain it to your son
If you want to see reduction put it in a prayer
It is almost as convincing
As calling coal clean
Not that pollution will be diminishing
But some will make riches that are seen
It may not be as easy and as simple
As plugging in an electric motor
To a power supply, just ask a pupil
To drive a bigger electricity generator
Maybe it is all to make some money
For the poor coal miner and his daughter
Some see what they make as not funny
A life time might make them what the CEO made last quarter
So you no longer have to worry
When you turn on the light and heater
Not that it will reduce the pollution in a hurry
But it will sure make someones’ balance sheet look better.

Hear hear!
The efforts countries like Iceland have put towards green energy puts everyone to shame. iceland is carbon neutral and it took only a few years. Australia for example plans to be 50% cleaner in 12 years time. No effort is really being done.
Nice words
