Wow, I am surprised they let you keep the xrays. Glad to see you are still as chipper as ever…hugzzzzzzz

  • Thanks Amarica.. Here in Australia you have the right to all you health records under Freedom of Information Legislation.. Some hospitals get paranoid and think you want them to sue, so might give you a hard time. One hospital took five applications to get documents they said they had destroyed in the first four FOI requests.

    do you get much pain?

  • Only when I forget to take the anti-inflamatries and the pain killers,, sudo-opiates. It has caused "Browns Sequarde Syndrom, which causes the nerves below the injury to all register as hot, cold, pain.. No-where near what it was like before I had the operation…. just a part of life…

I cannot believe I came across this!! I am blown away!!
Not a very common injury….it being along the cervical spine, nor is it a ‘common’ way to repair this type of injury….the use of metal versus bone/bovine. But I have an xray exactly like yours!! We must talk! Soooooooooo much talking to do!! This little problem put an end, full-stop, to life as I knew it. I am in terrible pain all the time and take handfuls of narcotics……I get these injections once a week all over my upper body, neck, face and head (human pin cushion!)…..and I’ve been depressed for 13 years!!! lol
So? You up for a few chats

  • Any time for a chat, anytime. They used this proceedure because Medicare wouldn’t fund puttong in artificial discs…. I still get pain in the neck, but it has got rid of the Browns Sequard Syndrom ( causes pain in the entire body below the injury, like being hot and cold and being rubbed by sand paper ) , and had began to be spasmodic in my fingers, so it was worth the proceedure. I was on high doses of synthetic opiates, but have taken myself off them and now just take panadole if it gets to me. I didn’t want to reach old age and need massive doses of opiates because I had been on them too long.
