Over Hill and Dale

Well, if anybody had told me six month ago that I would be climbing over rocks, getting wet and braving the elements, all in the pursuit of the “perfect shot”, I would have laughed out loud. But this morning, I found myself going cross country at the Barron Gorge for that exact reason. I even managed to get a little bit lost on my way back to the car and ended up climbing up quite a steep incline and hanging on for dear life. Well maybe not dear life, but it’s definitely the best work-out I’ve had in ages. Anyway, as far as I’m concerned, it was all worth it. I got some stunning shots. I’ll post one here and let me know what you think. As well as the photos, I got so much more. Which includes a chance to appreciate the beauty of nature, a boost to my spirits, some well needed exercise and the chance for reflection that only that kind of solitude can bring. I really cannot express how much photography has come to mean to me in the past month. It has brought about a stability and peace of mind that has long been needed. I now understand why so many others enjoy being at one with the lens.
