My art career truly began after receiving my BFA from East Carolina University in 1973 and my MFA, from Otis Art Institute in Los Angeles in 1975.
I began work full time on my art in 1975 and since my early beginings I had many successful one man-shows. In the 80’s Los Angeles offered a wealth of subject matter, but I found my direction in a combination of abstract expressionism and realism, which has remained central to my work even today.
As an artist that is centered in seeing the spiritual within nature I am moved to express these visions by both abstract imagery and narrative reality. In this way my work allows the viewer to experience feelings as imagery, a sound as color, a prayer as a composition.

In 1994, I moved to Washington. Where I discovered the beaches and wide-open spaces of Northwest. Currently, I live in Redmond, Washington. I work in my studio on paintings, sculptures and digital photographs that are now designed to support subconscious healing. My work is serious and directed. New work builds on a style developed in L.A. but with a greater focus on content and a unique difference in how I approach to traditional oil paint applications.

Along with my personal artwork I am an instructor at the Art Institute of Seattle. My focus there is teaching next generation digital image theory and I have become highly skilled with Adobe software. Using Photoshop as tool for image manipulation has allowed for a symphonic complexity in the design of my paintings that goes far beyond the normal choices one makes while working through traditional means. In 2001, 2003, and 2005, I won finalist “Guru” awards in the “artistic category” of the world competition sponsored by the National Association of Photoshop Professionals.

In 2006, my sculpture was chosen for inclusion in the City of Bellevue Sculpture Biennial. 40 works were chosen from over 527 entries worldwide I was selected for a TV interview that was used to promote the show. I have not included my sculpture in this presentation but if there is an interest in 3-D artworks I will be happy to send you images.

I want you to know that I am a committed life long artist with a focus on quality, content and expression and am at the point in my career where I have a great deal of experience to offer to the leading edge of such expressions. I am in my master works time of life. I hope you agree and find my work to your liking.
