“Roundup time at the ranch” Cowboy Western digital art. The legend of the cowboy stretches across the boundaries of the United States as far west as California and as far east as Florida. Cowboys still exist today whether it be as a profession, past time or simply in the heart to keep the history and the legend alive.
I created this image using metal cutout figures as well as photographs of sunsets and images I have collected from ranches from Florida to Arizona. Being that the horse and cowboys are made out of metal, it sort of has a science fiction feeling to it too. Not the look I was originally going for but now that I look at it again, it reminds me of the movie ‘West World’ where robots take over a western little town. it makes one think but that is the beauty of art, to see how people interpret an image and what they get out of it.
Digital artwork was created using Adobe Photoshop CS5 layers & Paint Shop Pro 6.
cowboy, western, ranch, roundup, horses, cattle, west, sunset, old westerns, history, united states, southwest
I have been painting since I was 12 years old and enjoy bringing ideas to life. Art is my passion as well as photography and 3D Animation. I have won first and second place awards in local shows and just enjoy creating something to hopefully bring a smile to someone’s face.
