I created this painting originally in 1982 when I was just a Junior in High School. It has been such a popular painting among the Surfing Community that it has become one of my best selling paintings. So, I decided to upgrade it and make a new rendition of it for 2011 using bright new colors and brush strokes. I recreated the original painting as a 20″ × 30″ Acrylic painting and am making prints to sell from it as well.
My hope is that the viewer, whether you have ever surfed a wave in your life or not, can see and feel the power of the wall of water this man is surfing in. The power of waves is tremendous. If there was a way to harness the energy from them, you could power cities from the force these waves produce.
I have been painting since I was 12 years old and enjoy bringing ideas to life. Art is my passion as well as photography and 3D Animation. I have won first and second place awards in local shows and just enjoy creating something to hopefully bring a smile to someone’s face.
