This is an original Acrylic Painting that I created back in 2008. I decided to give it a makeover and add some more colors, texture, lighting and detail to it. Turns out that the lighting did the trick, as always. As an Artist, I was never allowed to attend art school in college but I have learned much from studying pictures and my own photography to lend the knowledge I have learned about lighting back to my paintings to enhance shadows, light direction, ambient lighting and all the technical terms that I can apply as a 3D artist, photographer and painter.
So, here is my updated version entitled “Queen of her domain” of a Toucan resting on a branch in her native Amazon Jungle forest with light finding its way through the banana leaves, foliage and trees. Here I photographed this painting with rays of the sun to highlight some of the brush strokes, textures and raised paint. Details that often get hidden when you try to photograph paintings.
