Pet Cemetary

Artist's Description

I have taken trips across North America that have led me to many wonderful photo and painting opportunities but one of the most striking and saddest was coming across this memorial garden pet cemetary in Northern Florida.

The ground was sacred. You could feel it once you stepped onto it. The stillness and sadness of loss loved ones. I have lost three pets in my lifetime and each one was harder to bear then the previous one. Death never gets easier and seems all it takes is one split second for a little life to end swiftly and sadly. I wish my pets could have gone to a good resting place like this one.

They live on in our hearts, souls and minds and always will. It is a sad statement that the most purest, sweetest and innocent little animals are the ones that often live the shortest of lives. We wish they could live forever and yet they would grieve for us once we were gone and the heartbreak would be just as unbearable for them as it is us. There is little comfort in death but the memories, joy and happiness these blessed friends brought into our lives.
