This black bear seemed very happy to be surrounded by lush, ripe persimmons in this tree in the Western North Carolina mountains near the town of Morganton.

Thank you Judy. I don’t know where the mother was. There was another bear in the tree just above this one. Actually I think the blackin the upper right hand corner is a foot of the other bear. They looked like adolescent bears-ie not cubs but not full grown.
