Stunning, from what I recall I nearly got picked up by the cops for stopping on such a road. Good for you to be brave enough to face the law and let art prevail. lol

  • Oh my! DIdn’t the cops understand that you were witnessing an awesome view? There are no stopping, parking, standing signs posted re this viaduct but there are numerous pull off areas where peope can stop but quite a bit of walking is required in order to get a decent photograph.

    This is wonderful, Jane!!!

  • Thank you, CraigsMom. I live less than an hour from this location and it is one of my favorite places to photograph. Even though the scenes are the same, the atmosphere is always different. A couple of weeks ago I went up there and it was SO foggy I could hardly see the front of my car. No pictures from that day!!!

I love shots of this viaduct and this one is outstanding. Great color contrasts.

  • Thank you very much, Chris. In 1987 or so when it was completed, it was cited as one of the engineering marvels of the world. I think it is awesome and especially how they were able to design it with minimal impact to the natural environment. As many times as I have driven on it, I still get excited.
