Lake of the Woods
Nature and wildlife photographs from Lake of the Woods, Ontario by Jane Best.
While most of this large lake is in Ontario, Canada, it also covers part of the province of Manitoba and part of Minnesota in the U.S.
Lake of the Woods is over 75 miles long and wide and has approximately 65,000 miles of shoreline (105,000 km.). It contains over 14,500 islands,mostly forested and uninhabited.
In addition to having an abundance of beautiful scenery and wildlife, it is also a popular and world class fishing lake.
