In 1971 the Florida Project finally became a reality with Disney putting its mark on the east coast. The Magic Kingdom opened, entertaining guests of all ages with its six different lands.

Quote reads:

This is what Walt wanted for all of us – an escape from our aspirin existence into a land of sparkle and lights and rainbows … Walt Disney loved America because his dream came true right here in America. He brought to us the delightful images of a kind of kaleidoscope of sound, motion, color, music, and beauty, and he tied it all up into one broad, beautiful, bountiful package called love.
