Cockatoo Island Screw thread Lathe Speed Controller.

Cockatoo Island is a hertiage listed in the middle of Sydney Harbour and is also the largest Island in the Habour. Since European settlement the island has been used for incarceration of convicts, industrial schooling and ship building. Maritime idustrial activity was ceased in 1992. 10 years later the Sydney Harbour Federation Trust was established and this island was placed into their care. Rehabilitation and restoration of the island is continueing and upon each visit you are sure to note chages.

This was my second visit to the Island and this time the trip was instigated by my wife, as she had never been here. It was a day out with the inlaws with all of us enjoying the photographic delights of this wonderful place. The weather did get the better of us on this day as a afternoon thunderstorm drew the days activity to a close.

Many images were taken of this one machine and a few images will follow once they are processed. Hence you will see more images under the title “HDR Study of THE MACHINE”

Excellent – Although this bit of ‘electronics’ is much more recent, you have given this a 19th century Sci Fi, Jules Verne look that I reckon fits it perfectly and has given it a whole new character that hints of a story to be told.
It was a top day. I don’t think we’re done with Cockatoo Island yet though.

  • thanks Jeff. I do agree that this locale has a lot more to offer and look forward to many more visits.
