I gaze up at the evening sky
And I wonder if that’s your home
Somewhere behind the sun, beneath the cherry blossom
I may one day find you
Can you see me now? Is a part of you still here?
A golden meadow, sprinkled with silver daisies waits silently for me
Eternally
But I resist its tranquil lure
Just an empty plane, an empty heart
An empty soul
For you are living somewhere within the clouds
Or at the end of a rainbow, on a hazy summers day
Eternal warmth and happiness is now forever yours
…or is it?
Do you still dream?
Can you still touch, see, hear and smell?
To inhale the sweet scent of carnations that you once so loved
To feed the swans in the lake outside your Shangri-La
Where I often dropped the futile crumbs
Is that where you are now? How I wonder…
I wonder what its like
When you leave this life, and venture to the next
Because I want to know that you’re alright
Even before you left me you were gone
To a place somewhere in the clouds
It’s a place where I will one day find you
Within the clouds
This is about my Grandmother who died of cancer last year
