The great summer thunderstorms of my childhood
Seem far distant now.
Perhaps another young memory
Distorted through the filter of time.
Like long endless days of carefree existence
So hard to belive that they ever were there.
But now, there are other storms that cross
The horizon of my life.
Storms of anger at injustice.
Dark fleeting clouds of doubt.
Lightning strikes of irrational pain.
Destructive floods of tears descending
From the Mountains that seem, sometimes
To block out the sky.
But after the storm comes the
Break in the Clouds.
The sunlight of you, being there for me.
And the gentle breeze of your love
Blows the final clouds away.
