Hi, Shannon – how clever is this?! Very well done – eye-catching, and certainly very different. Are you happy to share how you did this? Thanks! – Louise
it’s a fairly simple effect to achieve. the easiest first step for me to explain would be to point you in the direction of the many tutorials for this on the web. first, I used photoshop cs2, but can use any version of photoshop that has the liquify filter. You can read the tutorial here . after I had the square apple I drew a selection around the front and inserted an image of a sliced apple. I also added a drop shadow to the bottom of the apple by painting a black shadow on a new layer, applying heavy gaussian blur and reducing the opacity of that layer.
google square fruit and you’ll find a ton of different tutorials on the subject.

well done Sharon ! yes, very well executed =) I’ve always wanted to try this, but never took the time. I’ve read you wanted to give a link to a tutorial, but it doesn’t seem to show up… would you mind sharing it again please ? I would appreciate, but I still can try to find ^^
