Is Selling easy? and t-shirts?

Is Selling easy? and t-shirts?

Selling and no selling….is the problem.
(Selling is no problem I believe).

First we have to start reasoning out:
Why are we here?
To sell or to promote??
Or to promote and then sell?
Is promoting enough?
Is selling so good? (selling a couple of card makes no difference)

If you have a good piece of work, definitely there is someone on redbubble that buy it.
The only problem is that there are too many users on redbubble and most probably, this “buyer” won’t see and buy your work. Pity!!
Solution?
The solution is to make a good marketing tool of yourself, promote your are in the right group/s, link you works with each other, being on he watchlist of others etc etc.
The more your work is seen the more you have chances to promote yourself and the chances to sell increases.

There are other factors to take in consideration:
1) If you don’t buy others works, do not expect that others buy yours.
2) Find a good timing when posting new works. If you post at extremes (busiest ot less busiest time) you work might not be seen by lots of people.
3) Use journals and forums to inform others what you are doing.
4) Make “resolutions” or what to expect from yourself. At the end of 2008 I had posted a journal Resolutions and Aiming for in 2009 on Redbubble where I have set some figures to reach. And till now I am on track.
5) If you place a high percentage of commission on sales, the prices of your work are more expensive and less targeted.
6) You can check what others are managing to sell, and try to be in track with them

It is not easy as one may think.
And reaching the redbubble homepage, although it is an honour to reach it; this cannot guarantee you any sales. I have reached the Redbubble Homepage 8 times
On the other hand, hundreds of works have been sold, without reaching the homepage.

Also, what you like is not what other likes. For example I uploaded two t-shirts last week.

I had expected that the first makes more success than the second but it didn’t (till now).
So, if you want to sell something, don’t produce works that you like, but produce works that others should like.

....and remaining on the theme of the t-shirts...
do not forget that redbubble is very generous at the moment …
.. tshirts are 15% OFF for 1 week..
So…BUY BUY BUY . If this campaign will be a success, I believe that there will be more similar campaigns.

I have read in different journals and forums, that it is easier to sell a t-shirt than anything else!!

So, to all, HAPPY BUYING AND HAPPY SELLING
(I WILL BE GRATEFUL TO SELL MY WORK TO ALL OF YOU!!! LOL)

I hope that I have been of some aid to some of you!!!
If you have some comments or anything to share….DON’T BE SHY!!!!

(this journal was written by me, with no influence but nobody, and I do not have nothing to do(redbubble staff or whatever) or work with redbubble)

Christian Zammit

    Hi!!
    Thank you for this!!!

    Great ideas…good advice!

One thing that is a problem for me is that I have no money, so I can’t buy others’ work. :sigh::

I’ve been Tweeting about the t-shirt sale, on two different accounts. It seems to bring in views.
    Thanks again!

Hey that’s GREAT! I’ve noticed that views go up within seconds. One shirt I had 3 views, Tweeted and within 5 minutes had 27 views….also, there are a lot of RedBubble people on Twitter and many of us will cross-Tweet each other’s stuff. Works great!

I’m RobpixadayPix most of the time. Find me…

Y’know, it’s weird that I put so much effort into my photo-art, but I’ve made more sales of my T-shirts than anything else (under my SGT Blarp account).
I wish I could say it’s through good marketing, but I just don’t know how I do it. I do know that I’m targeting a particular demographic with these Tees, & I know this target group very well, so I guess that helps…..
Thanks for the good read to make us think…. :))

    thanks for sharing the ideas.
Seems that selling tshirts is “easier” than normal art

Selling is always hard without the right advertising thats why I’m starting something new. I have had close to 8000 views on my t-shirts alone in 2 months and still no sells. I am getting my own website and selling my RB Art/T-shirts from here but on my site. I’m also allowing other bubblers to join me. If your interested in this then check out my profile for more details. It’s called The RB Art Club.

this is really interesting. I will take a look later on.
