i dont know if you do your ink work completely on your own but i did one once YEARS ago in an art class using a computer program and i was curious if thats what you did. this is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE style of art and i want to do another ink painting but i cant figure out how to do it with out that program…help?

  • SBCStudio replied

well, believe it or not i didnt use a computer – i used a grid system – the ol’
fashion way. took me forever… i dont know if that helps. this was done years ago as well, in florence italy. you can sketch out a design or a figure, scan it in photoshop and fill it in or thenimport it into illustrator-and then select to trace and live paint and then fill in. hope that helps- you do need to figure out where the light source is coming from and keep that area white.

thank you so much. the light source tip i think is the key to my problem lol! i never thought of that…guess thats the downside of being a young/new artist. ive never really explored different media and styles but ive just got SO much in my head that i want to get onto paper, i just dont know how sometimes! thank you tons!
