Party Invitation 1988 by Syd Baker
Clear

Currently unavailable for purchase

This is a unique party invitation I did for a friend of mine in 1988, pre-computer, in ink and watercolor/gouache, and the second time I used this art decco character with his snappy striped jacket, heading out to meet his date on the city bus. You just read the poster and the bricks behind him for the party information.
Here is the other time I used this guy, in the Theater Of The Absurd

    Fantastic work Syd!

  • Ink and watercolor, ah, those were the days, and one of the craziest characters too.

Fantastic work Syd!! The directions on the bricks is an amazing touch!! :)

  • I used to ride the bus a lot, could write a whole book about things you see at bus stops, or on the bus going downtown, also traces of the hidden treasures from my earlier graphic days.
