Deeping Bosk - Jemma and the Party by

Jemma and her friends go to a birthday party. This one was difficult, lighting the darkness, the number of objects, and a major start over after the first render to get it right. Quite a bit of post work as well.

Jemma’s favorite dress is actually decorated using a wonderful fractal design by the lovely and talented L.J.Maxx with her kind permission, see it in detail here:

Poser, Strata3DCX, Vue, Photoshop

  • Thank you Catherine, trying some new things with dark forest and lights, maybe we’ll see who lives there…

    Excellent, Great job Syd,

  • Thank you, Walter, my little dinosaurs have proved to be quite useful characters. Ever go to this place: ?

Fantastic Syd! And I still want a party dress just like Jemma’s!!

  • Thanks Jen, I suppose imagining a pattern is pretty far from actual fabric, seems a shame! I set myself a real challenge on this one, if you’ve ever been in a forest at night you know a new meaning of Darkness, and 3D lighting doesn’t necessarily work like real, and little dinosaurs are always unpredictable. Lost one balloon in the trees already!
How you? We’re getting solid but slow hints of Spring, as long as there’s still snow on the ground, spring isn’t really here yet.

Outstanding work Syd!! Whose Birthday are they attending?
    Was there cake? :)

  • Thanks Keith, Aha, that’s the real question, isn’t it?! Maybe we’ll see! Yes there was cake, even for the little lizards, although they know enough to wait outside because they knock things over with their tails.

Beautiful scene and work. Splendid creation. I love the richness of colors here.

  • Thanks Bunny, I wound up rendering this 4 times with variations on the light and combining the best each in photoshop. The house tree was a whole project itself. And as dinosaurs don’t have thumbs, it seems we’ve lost one balloon already…

Doing okay, thanks Syd. Yes, little hints of spring here too…… rained a bit yesterday so that whittled down the snow on the ground. Will be another month before we see the lawns most likely though. :o)

  • There’s a funny spring ritual here, on a central street in one of the nearby small communities all the show car owners will drive their favorite hot rods, muscle cars, vintage, and custom rides “cruisin’” down Johnson drive, have impromptu car shows in a parking lot, and gather at the local Sonic burger place. And there are some very impressive autos and trikes to be see . I always look forward to that, being a street rod lover all my life.

Syd ….The magic just keeps getting better and better, the party dress is fantastic….jemma`s trolly has certainly come in handy again. Your wonderful Artwork just amazes me.

  • Thank you Frank, sorry I temporarily missed this, yes the original dress is shown, I didn’t know I could change the texture of a Poser import in Vue, but with some tweaking both LJ and I were amazed.
I made her wagon from memory, I used to do the riding down the hill thing in mine, no brakes, glad I survived a vigorous childhood with such detailed memories!
