First Contact is imminent. A self portrait when I was about 7 years old and I had read that a beam of light travels forever in space until it hits something. So, with a knapsack for the flashlight and a jacket, my trusty Red Rocket Space Patrol lunchbox (with a peanut butter sandwich, you know, just in case) and my Morse Code emergency signal: 3 short blinks, 3 long blinks, and 3 short blinks, I sent for a starship to take me back where I belonged. Only seven, hadn’t even read any science fiction yet, signaled every night for a week, SO DISAPPOINTED.

So now, more than half century later, I have to wonder… is it 3 short blinks, 3 long blinks, and 3 short blinks, or 3 long blinks, 3 short blinks, 3 long blinks… ?

…—-… Any episodes of missing time? They may have come and erased your memory!! Any strange lumps up your skin behind your ears? Do you seem to set off the alarms when entering and exiting stores? Excellent image Syd!! :)

  • Well, I can change traffic lights by staring at them, but can’t everybody?
