Joy And Innocence Prevail

Thank you Danilo, seemed to me a fairly simple project, but the concept had a mind of it’s own and kept changing, so I struggled.

Thanks Zoo! The guitar is modeled after a Martin, but I designed my own sound hole rosette, and I used to have a giraffe just like that!

Thank you Phineous, needed to do something quiet after the last one, but it’s really interesting building an acoustic guitar, and a wooden giraffe for that matter!

Yup, had to make the pieces and assemble it in 3D, frets, strings, tuners, had the most fun creating the rosette for the sound hole, tiny real woodgrain pieces!

3D programs are kind of like shop class on the computer without sawdust or knicks on your fingers, and youre right, making an alien too real would make women scream and babies cry, can’t have that!

Actually it’s quite difficult, complicated (4 different programs are used here) too but the realistic factor is so alluring to me!

I hope you could listen to the link, it’s amazing ! Some of these, like the older ones, are a few hours work, some like this were days, and rendering was 7 hours, and I had to do that twicewith tweaks; but I get driven by the concept,, and best of all, YOU prove it was worth the effort!! Makes me happy!!

Thank you Shanina, I feel like a parent watching their kids grow and evolve, it’s kind of an emotional experience, in a digital way! What’s really funny to me is the scene was all ready, but there was this empty spot on the couch, I looked through all these objects I’d made over the years, and suddenly remembered my cat Pudgy, but made him white for the first time! Works for me!!
