A superb series.
Keith Reesor
Incredible image Syd!!
Brian Towers
I don’t know how you do it but you do it so well.
Antanas
Beautiful work
Dorothy Venter
Wow, this is something else. Love the concept and the contrast. It seems to me the valley is prone to flash floods if the line on the building is a water mark. Then how safe is Blue Man’s vehicle. Or is this a dry period. :-)
syd baker
Ah you needn’t worry: not a waterline! Just different building materials. If you look in the canyon though, those are gigantic fossils, like ribs, so in ancient days probably beneath the sea filled with rather large beasties. Also, the building is all one piece, shaped like a maze, with one large convoluted courtyard inside. Since you’re interested!!

Marvelous….........................Very creative, wonderful concept

Great concept shot
J Velasco
a very good composition and imagination.I love it.Very original
syd baker
Thankyou for the visit! I want to do more with architecture in the future, and I love the idea of gigantic fossil bones forming landscape elements.
DAViD ALLeN
Nice concept – is this done in Bryce?
syd baker
the rendering is in Vue Esprit, the building was constructed in layers in 3D Home Architect, Blue Man comes from Poser except for his head which was made in Strata 3DCX. Oh, the VW van is a bought item made for Vue from Cornucopia3d.com.
Marion Chapman
What incredible you work you do!! Makes me want to visit this place, it is so real!
syd baker
Aren’t you nice!! Hope you like the whole series!
Holly Werner
Excellent work. Love it.
syd baker
More Thanks!!! The building is all one piece, shaped like a maze that ends where it begins, with a very strange courtyard in the middle, which is where Blue Man 04 Rest Stop is located!
amarica
A real oasis…LOL…great work Hun!
syd baker
Yeah, and that roof thing was last minute idea! Thanks for that and for liking the Weenie in the Fire!!
RosaCobos
And I have been invited…
I love terraces..
stepping stairs..
my heart bumping hard…
do not mind…
the sunsetting is a glory up there…
and the moon beams are so dense..
one has to walk upon them…
with mistery.
Rosa (genial… absolutely genial…)
syd baker
What beautiful prose, got to be the loveliest comments Ever!!
Richard Murch
.. Very interesting work all around Syd ... Bravo~!
syd baker
Thank you so much! Am trying to get a little more architecture going in these.
mawaho
The contrast of the rooftop is amazing! What clever work you do!
syd baker
Thanks so much, I followed an impulse to do the roof that way, glad I did, especially since Blue Man 04 is actually inside the building’s courtyard, and those plantings are what make all those shadows!
Paul Vanzella
your work is seriously out of this world!
syd baker
Ah, many thanks, this series 1-12 looks like our world, but is Not, so you are quite correct!!
Mel Brackstone
Amazing series, Syd! I’m going to be looking at what Blue Man is up to for awhile, I think!
syd baker
Thank you, he has become much more alive than the original prop so long ago, and he is much more modest than I!
Jerame *
very cool!
syd baker
Many thanks, the building is shaped like a maze and ends at the beginning, so the only opening is the ladder door, and the courtyard inside is a really weird shape.
Vasile Stan
This is yet another super fantastic composition from an extra ordinary, imaginative and talented artist. Kudos Syd.
syd baker
Thank you my friend, I am currently smiling shyly, hands in pockets toeing the floor with an Aw Shucks!
Donna Martin
You may have great software…but it still takes the creative eye and soul to put it together…this is the most fascinating artwork…in a way – it makes me think of Dali….and his surreal works of 30 years ago…cool!
syd baker
Many thanks, in art school one project was to choose an old master and draw like them; I chose Dali, and the teachers said, no, he’s not an old master. I said stuff that, I’m using him anyway!! I got a C and the beginnings of a rebel streak that still shows!!!
mistertrooth
Ha ha ha…!
syd baker
Thanks for getting the joke, I was torn about including a Doorkeeper, but the scale was just too small to worry about it!
Solomon Walker
incredible design!
syd baker
Thanks, this is an early attempt to incorporate architecture in these pieces.
Scott Bricker
all these are sooo cool!
love the way you have incorporated another scenery into the building…I like the way your mind works…heheh…
syd baker
Thankyou my friend, the building is all one long hallway maze that ends where it starts, the gardens were almost an afterthought!
Elena Ray
Awesome-what imagination-what a place!
syd baker
Thank you, you should see it from the top, it’s a maze, and the image that follows this is a view from the inside!
bubbleblue
stunning
syd baker
The canyon is made of giant fossil bones, made special for the occasion!
linaji
Wow lOve how you made the hotel a sustainable one!! What power you evoke with your views.. I love the crisp nature to all that you do..
syd baker
The whole place is like one really long corridor that is shaped like a maze, ends where it starts, that makes for a very strange shaped courtyard in the middle!
coppertrees
Awesome place
syd baker
Thanks!! Blue Man 04 is actually inside this building looking at the shadowplay from the roof gardens!
Sinéad Costello
WOW!!!
syd baker
My thanks, Sinead, the building is made in a program where you draw lines and walls spring up! Gives you a strange feeling!
Peter Hill
so totally original and exquisite! really really cool.
syd baker replied
Thanks Peter, I’ve been making images like these for lots of years, only 2008 did I ever post any, never knew if anyone would like them before.
robpixaday
OOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fantastic!
syd baker replied
The whole building is one piece shaped like a maze, The next pic #4 shows you the inside courtyard view!
robpixaday
Cool!!
Gonna go look now.
I found some of the free download info for that program (I have no $$ ... ) and saw only Windows ones. But I’ll keep searching.
syd baker replied
Glad you like! Is this what you mean by download info? It’s the Sketch Up Warehouse of free objects and things: free stuff here
robpixaday
Hey, terrific!! thank you! that stuff is GREAT!!
I was trying to find the 3D Home Architect one that you mention in your earlier replies here. I found it but it’s to buy. The free one I found was a trial, for Windows. But there were others listed; I’ll check them out later.
Can’t wait to sort through the goodies on that link you just gave me!!! Yeeehah!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANX
!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!~~~~
robpixaday
By the way..I just downloaded Google Earth. WOW!
Talk about A>M>A>Z>I>N>G!!!!!!!!
syd baker replied
Hey Robin, I’ve been messing around with Sketch up, and the only downside to it I can see is you can’t export a model into another 3D program. this probably won’t affect you, as you are having so much fun with it, but if you’re interested in other free 3D modeling programs, here’s a link I found: Free 3D Programs reviewed
You’ll find even the simplist of these is pretty complicated, so my advise is to continue getting comfortable with Sketch up and if you want to expand from there, those are the next logical step. Have fun whatever you’re doing, glad to assist, it’s my way!!!
syd baker replied
Here’s a tip for Sketch up: if you don’t want that ground color and sky, when you start it up, in the welcome window scroll down for a different template, like plan view-feet inches, then press the Start button bottom right. When you’ve made something, export, when you open it in photoshop or other, it’s easier to get rid of background now, it’s just white!
Kim Bender
You have a wonderful fantasy!!! :))
syd baker replied
Thank you Kim, I’ve no idea where it comes from, probaly reading!
Keith Reesor

syd baker replied
Many thanks, working with buildings is new for me.
JayJay70
could have a golf course up there. Good work. well done for the feature
syd baker replied
There’s room! Best to confine it to putt—putt golf, chasing a ball means back down that ladder…
cyberartist
I should have known that this was yours syd – I ran out of megs and killing time on a public computer – looking for ideas to pinch – see you in a week or so when Im financial again. Just Brilliant my friend….
syd baker replied
I had just discovered that 3D Home Architect would export seamlessly into Vue with all textures intact, so of course I started doing unheard of things with it: this is a foundation layer that I kept subtly altering, exporting, altering again, exporting again, then stacking the pieces up in Vue, finish with a roof. The gardens on top were a last minute inpiration! Check out the giant fossils in the canyon behind…
syd baker replied
Blue Man 04 is a scene from inside the same structure, it’s a hollow wall that zigs and zags and ends at the beginning, with a really weird courtyard inside.
Andrea Ida Rausch
Oh, you’ve got so much fantasy, what a great concept! The roof with all the green stuff on it is amazing in this wilderness of sand….!
syd baker replied
Hi Andrea, the building is actually a hollow wall that zigs and zags all the way around and back to the beginning, so there’s an amazing courtyard in the middle. And the canyon behind is showing giant fossil bones.
Brook Gerard
Great work! The modern touch is fun.
syd baker replied
I need to try more with the architectural program, yes this little tour of Blue Man’s is supposed to be on a parallel Earth, anything goes!
