no kids laughter outside
unless pta organized
always arrive ontime
never free to watch the sky
fastfood drive thru suv smooth ride
to flee city streets to suburbs safe and white
pressure to be the best
and leave the rest behind
dressed for success
with your eye on the prize
when i was young my mother told me to be kind
i played in the mud
but not pass our street sign

keep baby safe and sound
keep baby locked inside
tv stares and blares violence 9 to 5
no time to look at a book
maybe some other time
daddy’s working late
and mother bear is tired
well time gets away
and save to retire
and those baby’s grow
no more pta no more baby cloths
daughters coming home with
a baby of her own
