I was working on an exhibition in 2005 called Dirty Wonderland, about the seamier side of the carnival. With about a week to go, I got invited to go to the Melbourne Show. I’d never been before, and with my head filled with sideshow and carnival research, I happily went.

I took a camera, a last minute decision, and ended up with a number of beautiful shots that made their way into the exhibition.

This image was a straight shot from a Kodak film with no post editing.
