Tea party in the garden
This photo was taken as a publicity shot for an exhibition I’m curating called Totem, Dolls with Souls as part of the Melbourne Fringe Festival.
Totem is a collection of over 100 dolls created by artists to reflect how they feel themselves to be inside. These dolls are more than just simple childrens toys, they are powerful symbols of who we think we are, the internal workings of the human mind given form and are honest, hearfelt expressions of self.
This photograph pictures the doll I created for the show.
It is a straight photograph taken on digital camera with no post editing.
Totem is on at Fed Square from the 25th of Sept to the 12th of Oct, 2008-
“Tea party in the garden” was featured in the group Art of the Doll
Tea party in the garden belongs to the following groups:
All Around the Styles, Art of the Doll, As Is, Australian Contemporary Photography, Fantasy Art, Images for Film, Mermaids and mystic creatures, Mysteries of the Common, Not What It Seems, Photographers self portrait, Self Portrait and Toys and Puppets Available for sale asGreeting Cards

hehe so gorgeous… love the gold dress. I guess she doesn’t get a wax very often =P
Sayraphim
AHAHAHAH… no, I think she leaves it all as virgin forrest :)
The dress was a difficult thing to sew, it’s all handsewn while on her, to ensure it fitted. Slippery satin is not really my fav to sew, but it looks beautiful! She’s all dressed up to go to the exhibition opening, with earrings, a bracelet, necklace and a handbag. No shoes though, monster sizes are very hard to find in shops :)

Thank you. Looking at it now, I wonder whether there should have been tiny cupcakes too… But that’s always the way I guess, you look back and can always find things to change…
