These old snags play an important part in the wetlands in Hillsboro, Oregon USA. They are homes to various animals and they make for some good photos! I took this at sunrise while there was still a wisp of fog on the water. I think the stream is part of Dawson Creek and it’s wetlands. It’s a beautiful area and at sun-up or sunset or when enshrouded in fog it is great fodder for your lens. Taken early on May 16th 2009 with a Canon 5D and a 28-135. I love the new gree grass after a long, cold winter.

I have had a camera in my hand since the late sixties! Recently someone looked at a photo display I had in a coffee shop and got goose bumps. All I try to do is to capture various aspects of God’s amazing creation and let you also enjoy what I am seeing! If you get goose bumps, that’s great. But remember I only capture what he created. He creates, I capture, we enjoy.

Thanks, BigD! I just took it this weekend. Of course I had to be up with the birds on my day off, but sometimes that pays off!

I love the look of the sunlight streaming through the forest and the mists rising from the creek, it is a lovely image Randy. The grass is so lush and thick. Congratulations on your feature in All Countries ~ Wetlands, Ponds, Lakes and Rivers

  • HI Sharon, It was a very lovely morning, other than I got up at 4:40 on my day off! But I knew if I was going to catch the light in Hillsboro I would have to do it. So I Just Did It! I was rather pleased when I saw this shot and a few others from this outing. BUt many of them got the old delete button. Randy
