SOMWHERE, SOMETIME ON AN HOURGLASS BEACH - ©2008 Corina Daniela Obertas
I wrote this poem when I was 21 years old…Yeah, more free time more writting…
The time is not other than an hourglass
Eternal flow of our lives
Irrecoverable, inescapable survey of lost destines,
Forgotten,
One too far and other too close from what it’s called “whole”
However happy that they’ve met,
Passing somewhere, sometimes,
In a world, in a time
Or better said in an hourglass,
Like two grains of sand touching each other, by chance on they’re way to the sea…
And they…? Really existed without any doubt?
And their beach, only their, existed? Will exist?
Nothing real, imaginations, only two idled grains of sand
Somrwhere on a beach, dreamed by one of them,
Visited by another;
Still, with the hazy feeling they knew each other,
Posing as unknown spirits, with futile explanations,
It goes without saying,
Different, it had to be formerly,
One closer by, that one far,
Then that one from afar now closer than its mate,
Following the same way,
Aspiring to the same goal,
Infinitely more together, infinitely more truthful, ever more good…
What silliness!
How could the sand grains be more truthful and more good?
Their heart of stone cannot apprehend anymore
No spark of hope, should we speak of this,
I can’t believe or won’t, that they could take again
The course to another beach, another hourglass;
However, though praying at Her,
The everlasting, immortal, goddess,
And Him, their God, The Blue Shore,
That something happens,
To believe that still exists,
There, far away in space, lost in a strange place,
Creatures of the Clay Goddess
Being left somewhere at inception, barely they and so,
The eternal elements of stone blown away by wind, squashed by the cliffs,
Forgotten by all, vainly searching themselves,
Vainly trying, inferring, devising substance,
Trying to find some reason to meet again,
Seeking, digging through the cliffs,
Through the waves and wind,
The lost seasons,
Flowing from the upper hourglass chamber,
Blaming themselves that they didn’t do the best they could do….
No…It was something else more…It must been something…
Mysterious, hidden from their gaze,
Something rare and hidden, hard to find,
Something…or maybe not…?
It was, it has or maybe still exists, something unending…
Ah! UNENDING! This is the right word.
Start all over again, over and over, infinitely,
Their hourglass now carved in stone,
Symbol, evidence of the pain that they are still in the flight,
Broken wings,
Edges of sky,
Two pieces of stone bound in mystery,
Mirrors transformed in crocks and discarded on the Earth,
Vibrations coming across once or twice, in the wind,
Stages from a virgin game,
Just similar grains which must been two,
Braiding themselves, lost in the boundless blue of the sea,
Living,
SOMWHERE, SOMETIME ON A HOURGLASS BEACH .
