This is a life sized replica of the carrack that brought Jacques Cartier to Saint-Pierre on 15 June 1535. This replica of the vessel was featured at Expo 67 in Montreal (1967) where it served as a floating restaurant, after which it was moved to Quebec City and put on display. It was later purchased by a businessman who moved it to Ontario, near St. Catherine’s just off of the QEW in Jordan Harbour, Canada. He had intentions of re-opening the restaurant, but due to lack of funds the ship sat for years, unused. In 2003, the ship was destroyed by what police called a suspicious fire. This is what remains.

Taken with my Canon 450D, using a focal length of 18mm, an ISO of 100, f/7.1, and a shutter speed of 1/200 of a second. Edited using Lightroom 3.
