(Re-visiting a wonderful moment in time….It’s ALMOST that time again!)
While out fungi hunting yesterday, an innocent by-stander was attacked by a voracious mushroom munching possessed human by the name of Carla.
The innocent had no idea what caused the inflamed look in her eyes but he says that he was innocently walking when she came rushing out of the woods with this ‘LOOK’…one he found almost impossible to describe.
After much searching….the woman was taken into custody and tested with a diagnoses of ‘Morel Fever’. It seems to hit many at this time of year doctor’s said.
Hopefully….there is a cure?
Morel season in the US is a time when all the crazies come out. It’s probably North America’s number 1# wild edible fungi. It’s easy to ID and has a great flavor. All members of it’s family are safely edible by those without allergies.
Spring starts coming in and humans start going out. Secret patches are guarded like crazy and even I’ve been known to be pretty defensive.
I’ve not found one yet this year but am starting to see signs that means they’re coming if not already here.
Wish me luck and Happy Hunting!
