These glass eyes will be used to replace old ones in fishing lures. They range in sizes from small marbles to the tiniest of candy drops.
When the old wood lures were made…they had eyes made of glass…or of a metal tack…sometimes they were painted on…and sometimes they didn’t even have eyes.
Watching the process of when the old beat up lures first arrive…to when the old paint is removed…to where the wood filler is smoothed into nicks and scratches……..to when the paint is added then the extra hardware of hooks and spinners…the whole process leaves me breathless (not just from the paint fumes)…waiting to see the final results.
Parts like this waiting to be used are just irresistable to my camera eye.
