4 kinds of Tomatoes
Herbs (Dill, Oregano, Thyme, Lavender, Chamomile, Basil, Rosemary, and Sage)
Mint (Chocolate, Horsemint, Citrus, and Julipe)
Most my garden is a 2 foot space around the edge of my apartment…with one large square in the back for my cantelope plant (only 1….with over 10 fruits on it right now!)
I have a watermelon that has decided to grow even though it wasn’t planted…a tomatoe that I have no idea what kind is growing that I didn’t plant….and many flowers added in for splashes of colors.
I have a tepee built off a pole on my back porch that is growing 2 kinds of climbing flowers that hopefully should be ready to bloom in the next couple weeks…making a fun hiding spot for my cat or my son.
I have only a few potted plants…including my peppers, one tomatoe, and my potatoes……..just so I can bring them in in the fall or making them easier to harvest.
What a thrill to be able to harvest food from my OWN garden….very little watering has been needed even in our extreme heat of this years summer.
I don’t use any fertilizers or herbicides. All soil I created from my own compost heap or from ‘my’ farmer’s woodchip pile. I bought 2 bags of topsoil for filling in holes and that’s been it.
My first harvest started almost a month ago and will last for at least till November as long as winter snows don’t kick in to quickly.
Photographed today before i made a salad of the Nasturnium flowers/leaves and cucumbers. I had some of the potatoes yesterday…frying some for my son and making mashed for myself.
The zucchini will become bread tonight and the eggplant will be part of my dinner with shredded ham cooked with some thyme, rosemary and goat cheese I bought at the store.
Each summer I save hundreds of dollars by spending only a few for seeds and water.
I know you won’t enjoy like I have/will………but…hope you at least like the image!
