This gorgeous photo is straight from the camera…taken by my 10yo son, Parker.
He used a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ4 set at a level that reads the available light and USUALLY adjusts…….this time it just stayed where it was. (this was obvious when viewing the other 20+ shots my son took of this spot)
My kid has an amazing eye….coming from a mom who is very criticle of work done by children who get over-praised. (yes…it’s possible)
This was photographed at our ‘Farm Series’ here in NE Kansas. This farm house was built back in the very early 1900’s and abandoned around 1972.
A magical place for both of us….we never get tired of visiting the entire property…and thanx to the owner, Donald, who allows us to.
……………..
One thing we both love in this room…are the empty chairs…the doors….there’s a tv and an old phonograph….a pair of overalls are on the far wall (not visible)…shoes and purses on the floor…….a vertible treasure of old abandoned objects to see.

Your son did a great job! I love photographing old abandoned houses and farms.

  • I do too….I don’t often allow him into the buildings…especially after this past summer of him coming SO close to a venemous snake encounter next to one…but this time was winter so I allowed him closer then normal.
He’s pretty proud of this image and wanted me to tell everyone THANX! :o)

Great shot! You deserve to feel proud mom!

  • Oh I am! He’s only 10….already has 4 art awards to his name…..draws the most INCREDIBLY detailed images….
When he was 5…he drew ‘A Frogs Lifecycle’….from beginning to end starting with the egg mass to tadpole…to tadpole with legs…..then the frog with only a tiny tail til it was a full frog. Do you know of any 5yo’s…….who make studies like that???
I’m in SOOOOO much trouble! lol
