Today, Emmitt and I drove to Topeka, KS, to visit with a wonderful human…along the way…we stopped at a couple places to take pictures and enjoy the sites.
This group of mushrooms he’s taking a break on are called Destructive Pholiota…not because they’re deadly? But because they’ll kill a tree.
These are a new FIRST for me…very exciting. These were growing out of the cut ends of cottonwood trees….about 15 all together. Gorgeous, huge, beautiful…and edible!

Emmitt you are such a show off!!! I love how he is so color coordinated with his friends… this is a spectacular find and shot,, and yeh,, sore feet and all I would have been doing a little jig after finding these,, does Emmit dance with you much,, or just sit around watching you,, LOL,, this is so much fun,, peace and love linmarie

  • Emmitt plays the banjo rather then dancing with me..lol but aren’t these just fabulous??? when I picked the 3 i brought home, i was amazed at the weight of them! i cut them up after more photos and dried them last night…and they all fit into one little sandwich baggy with hardly any weight at all.
    a true fact? MOST mushrooms…are %90 water!
I soooo hope your feet get better REAL soon dear!
