FINALLY FINALLY! I got to see a gorgeous amazing looking Monarch caterpillar! I LOVE these guys!
to know that…….they eat such a toxic plant….and are able then to transfer that toxicity to thier innards…so when they become butterflies? NOTHING will eat them and remain impartial to the toxins………….
This fellow was only about finger length…still a bit to go before ready to pupate…
Found inside the wildlife prairie area of Sugar Lake Marsh zone…….

he is a beautiful creature. what super markings, crisp and well defined. perfect sharpness from head to ‘toe?’ good working pose too. well done.

  • fascinating to me also? is how…….in their larva stage…they’re yellow/black/white striped….and when they’re in the butterfly form? they’re orange/black with white dots…thanx J.K.!

yahhh they do have a little gold on them..then 10 days later a beautiful butterfly comes out, cant wait !!!!!

  • i’ve wanted to get ‘butterfly farms’ to let my son be able to watch them go from caterpillar to cocoon/crysillis to butterfly/moth stage (ok…so i wanna see too!)….but an easy way that won’t get me into trouble with my housing is just to plant a garden with all kinds of variety of plants….
