Taken back in November, 2012…..just now re-finding and posting these images.
This is a type of yellow jelly fungi……many of which are considered edible and can be made into an amazing soup. I’ve not tried this particular one as I can only find tiny bits of them…not enuf for a good bite no matter how I try.
These were growing on a fallen branch from a pine….which was already dying and is now marked to be cut later this year.
This fungi isn’t the cause of it’s demise however, but another may be responsible for this one and almost ALL the rest of our evergreen trees here in the mid-west. Scary thoughts…..
