The Netted Rhodotus, or Rhodotus palmatus, is the only member of it’s family. It is completely unique in so many ways…..and hard to find!
A rare beauty that is found in Kansas, USA more then any other location in the US….I always feel extremely blessed to find them. Talk about how priveledge I felt with this CLUSTER!
This was found back in Sep. of 2012…..not sure why I never posted these.
They have a beautiful fruity smell to them…have a pale pink spore…pink gills…pink cap……….BUT..have a golden color ‘juice’ that comes out of the stem. The caps wrinkle when subjected to a wet/dry/wet/dry type of condition which gives it’s name Netted as it crinkles up into a net-like pattern.
