Grape Vine Invader From An Unknown Orange World

I’m posting this one again as I’m still stumped as to what it is. Found growing out of 3 different cut wild grapevines…....also one batch off the side of a living vine. The drip is what I believe to be water but not sure? It has almost a rubbery rather then a slimey consistency. No odor that I could tell.
I’ve been posting this all over the net and no one has any ideas yet. ANYONE?
Found inside Weston Bend State Park in Missouri along the Missouri River bluffs this summer.

Grape Vine Invader From An Unknown Orange World belongs to the following groups:

All Things Orange, Bits and Pieces , Forests, Live, Love, Dream, National Parks of the World, United States and Vibrant and Vivid Color

Aliens have attacked us…. they are taking over the world… send it to Steven Spielberg… maybe he wants to make a movie about it….lol… I would say take it to a nursery and ask them.

I must echo what George has said, I wouldn’t be able to guess what it is.

we’ve only 1 nursery in the area and i’ve already shown the photos? they just went ‘ew’ and said they had no idea. someone tried to tell me at one point that ALL grapevines did this? but i’ve NEVER seen it before and i’ve lived near grapevines for over 25 years.
did u ever watch the movie ‘The Blob’? hmmm…maybe it’s changed colors….lol

Bytheway, Did you know that the oldest Vine is now in South Australia – since the European vines got their root rot pest the vines that came down here in the early 1830’s are now the oldest! :O) I invested in a red wine from one of them in 04 – it is still being stored … dunno when I’ll open it :O)

Hi Clara Had the vine been recently pruned or wounded? As often when you prune the sap runs, then if you get wet weather a mould grows on the wound. It has happened when I’ve pruned but not as effective as this.It has been on the conifers an a few natives, that have been wounded or pruned.I don’t work with grape vines so I don’t know if It happens to them.I don’t the name I just know it as a form of mould,It has a gelatinous texture.Like Lavender moon said snot.Hope I’ve helped? It Is EWWW

lol…notice i have my real name on this link now? i kept getting lots of ‘wrong name’ typos on here so i just thought i’d help people…lol no worries!
but in answear to u’r questions…....these were OLD cuts…..i’ve hiked in this forest a lot and have walked by these hanging vines several time…....sometimes even swinging on them. only 1 of the 3 main ickies was a ‘recent’ and that was before winter.?.?.? the main vine that is still whole….had the ‘leak’ on the side…but i couldn’t see any cuts as this goo (snot as you two so love to refer to it as…lol) was covering it.
It does however make me think of a slime mould…however…can’t figure out WHAT slime mould. hrmmmm
