Carrie, Carrie
Quite contrary
Too many times
She popped her cherry
Shame, shame
Double shame
Can’t recall
Her boyfriend’s name
Twas Friday the 13th
She arose in the night
To a clatter
Ran down the stairs
To see what was the matter
Alas she found and saw
Her precious rep
Shattered and flawed
Oh what will I do?
Oh what will I do?
Too late
Too bad honey
You’ve become the new
Playboy bunny
Took you too long to figure
Should have waited
Till your chest was bigger
Be wary of boys who boast
Find out the fare
Before you rollercoast
Some tickets just ain’t worth payin’
Careful which bed you lay in.
School Yard Rant
I was a little hesitant to submit this piece as my first piece of writing on Red Bubble.
I originally wrote this when I was 14 years old. A girl who rode my school bus told everyone how she had lost her virginity on Friday the 13th.
This is the only poem I’ve ever written that I am able to recite.

I like it. in particular the line you have used to get in the readers…it’s a sad dilemma…whether to be wary or trusty

Thank you Soxy. Yes these kind of double standards for men and women are very sad. Particularly in the town I grew up.

oh so very true so many young ones are confused. I’m afraid there are too many double standards. You’ve put this together very well. {>:

An extremely good ‘cautionary’ tale. Excellent first piece.
