This is the cottage which still has the complete old fire range in along with the cooking pot/cauldron. (see my portfolio for ‘Cooking the old way.’)
Roofless and still standing in spite of it’s open outlook (apart from the roof).
There used to be a roof tax which is why the roof on this cottage has been removed. It’s still there but left to the side. That way, the building, being roofless did not warrant a tax being paid.
