A Day In The Life Of

A series of powerful images from the original photographs. A visual documentation of a fetishistic obsession. This work comes from black and white photographs taken to document an artistic performance piece. The artist created and wore a leather restrictive mask with zipped mouth preventing consumption and communication. Misselbrook was then restrained to chair arms with a series of syringes on the table in front of her. These syringes were filled with fat so no longer functioned and were labeled with the recommended daily amount of everything we should have in our diet. Questioning prescriptive routine, perfection and the quest for beauty, these images are shockingly powerful yet simultaneously calming.
