Monthly
A series of four images depicting the removal of hair from the artist’s head over the course of one month. An image was taken once a week for four weeks showing the hair growth and a monthly cycle of hair removal. The physical act of shaving a female head, denying femininity and all the routine cleaning, treating, styling that goes along with it. The monthly cycle is one of self-purification, plucking, shaving and waxing leading to a constant self- surveillance of the body.
The original images of this work are presented on a cube light box which slowly rotates underlining the time elapsing and growth of hair.
