Sarah Burk

I am a member of Many Nations tribe and my tribal name is Word Warrior. I see myself as a spokesperson for the mentally ill, homeless, abused and all the other people who are hiding in the shadows and falling through the cracks. I use my writing and my artwork to show that these people are three dimensional, real human beings. I am mentally ill and know many of the mentally ill who are now homeless. I know what it is like to be abused. I try to make a difference with my work. I believe we need to love to change the world. The most influential thing I ever encountered was written on a calender when I was a child. It said “All We know of love is that love is all there is”.
