Oil on canvas. What better way to pay homage to the Master than to try and capture the joy and beauty he created with my own version of his painting.

Fabulous- love the Matisse influence !

  • Thanks Karin! I wish I hadn’t missed the Matisse/Picasso expo when it was in town so I could have seen the origional. Still have no idea what the true colors of it are! : )

How beautiful this is, I agree with Karin. If you are not on my watch list… you are now. How beautiful this is: It is oil? you have blended the colors like a watercolorist!!!

  • Thank you Izzybeth! Yes, it is oils. If you saw me blend with watercolors you would take back the last part of your comment! In fact, I’m sitting here waiting for my watercolors to dry so that I can get on with it, though I’m not sure I’ll ever get the hang of it! : )

Wanted to tell you how much I appreciate not only your work, but your bio and your descriptions with each piece about technique and inspiration. I really enjoy reading you!

i am not into still lifes at all until i saw my first cyzanne this is a combo of ole mattie and him too nicely done,

  • I hear what you’re saying about cezanne – man could that guy paint! : ) The fruit in the basket make me think more of him than Mattisse – especially since Matisse called his version of this “Still Life with Oranges” – I think they look more like peaches personally, but who am I to argue with the master? : ) Thanks for stopping by! Glad you like it. I like the witty way you have in your work. Thanks for the smile!
