Portrait of a young girl, acrylic on yupo paper by

This is my last acrylic painting on yupo paper, a portrait I did using my youngest daughter as a model. I liked her expression and the way the light was coming on one side. I layered lots of colors with some gel medium trying to paint in a very loose way, taking some liberty from my picture.
I did post some pictures of the making of this painting on ARTiful, painting demos blog.

I grew up in France but have been living in Canada for the last 12 years, I am currently located in North Vancouver and work from a studio on Pemberton Avenue.

I have two passions:
- Painting the effects of light with watercolor on paper through portraits and cityscapes
( http://www.watercolorpainting.ca/ and http://www.yupopaperpainting.com/ )
- Building complex textures and edges with acrylics and mixed media on canvas (http://www.mixed-media-paintings.com)

I don’t know, but somethingh in your job remembered Normal Rockwell, but not the idilic meanings, you can get others meanings and feelings. Your Drawn almost talk with the audience. So good. So expressive.

  • Thank you Beto, I am flattered by the reference, I can remember a number of drawing by Norman Rockwell that were amazing!
