"Fox Tails" Gray Fox in Micanopy, Florida by

This is a photograph of two young foxes that grew up in the hollowed out area of this very large old oak tree that fell during some very high winds a few years before. It was about 30 feet from my back door.
The whole family of gray foxes lived, played and grew up around this tree and the woods behind it.
I was very fortunate to be a part of their life and took many photos of them. I simply loved these foxes and now all foxes. I think foxes are amazing little misunderstood creatures.
. I hope my fox photos will shed some light on the docile nature of foxes in general. Most people think of foxes as nocturnal but this family felt quite comfortable on the 10 acres of land that I lived on and I would see them at all hours of the day.
They were not afraid of me nor I of them
Some people have to really wait and wait to see a fox but all I had to do was look out my window! How lucky was I?

My name is Sandra Russell and I have been a professional photographer for 20 years showing and selling my work at juried art shows across the country. I don’t limit myself to subjects and shoot whatever catches my eye.
. I edit my work in photoshop and experiment with different
techniques. To me the image is only step one and what comes after that is what makes photography art.

A great shot, Sandy. You shoud post another one more cropped, even if it would only make a card or small photo. its one hell of a shot with them on that huge log and the one’s tail drapped over the other fox.
Is that a huge cyprus tree?

I’ve cropped it before but I wanted to show the landscape in this one and just how small little foxes are in comparision to their enviroment. Yes, this was a huge tree… I was in the house when it came down… glad it fell the way it did instead of on the house… never know which way the wind blows…
It was a huge royal oak tree and came down during hurricane Charlie…
