I hiked through all the snow, to be met by a desolate Peel Park, (Bradford, W Yorkshire, England, UK) at 7.30 in the morning today (Saturday, 18th Dec 2010)!!
The little lake was frozen solid, and the Water Fowl had only a tiny drop of water to swim and feed in. Fortunately, it is a popular place, at a more reasonable hour of the day, where the Ducks, Geese, Moorhens and Coots get well fed by folk who visit there on a daily basis, especially at this time of the year.
The snow was crisp and fresh and not a soul was to be seen. I thought it was worth the hike just to see virgin snow, which is very unusual seeing as Bradford City is literally only a 5 minute drive away.
