An Englishman’s house in the Country, a very big house with 3000 acres of rolling countryside…
Broughton Hall, Skipton, W Yorkshire, England, UK.
The Hall was built in 1597 by the Tempest family and it continues to be their private home which provides it with a very special atmosphere. The building is Grade I listed and set in 3000 acres of parkland and rolling countryside and is available to groups for tours by prior arrangement throughout the year, in addition to the public open days on Bank Holiday Mondays only, and also as a prestigious venue for business promotions and functions. The grounds were designed by Nesfield in 1855 including fine Italianate gardens, gazebo, fountains and balustrades. The magnificent conservatory is a particular feature. Filming often takes place at Broughton with its wide diversity of settings and locations and the owners appreciate and understand production requirements. Separate from the Hall is the Broughton Hall Business Park formed from listed Estate buildings housing 38 companies employing 400 people in cutting edge office accommodation.
