In the Summer of 2009 we went to the formerly Danish Islands in “Dansk Vestindien”: St. Thomas and St. Croix- now USVI – in the Caribbean. This was just fantastic ….
The coconut palm tree I found on the beach of Protestant Cay close to Christianssted, St. Croix where we stayed at a charming little hotel for one week during that trip.
You had to go by boat to this beach, but it was only 5 minutes away with the shuttle ferry, and this beach was not so crowded.
Actually, that little island in the old days was a cemetery for those people that were not Catholics … but you cannot find any trace of that today.
This place is just so fascinating, with a small habitat on low water, you can snorkel or just walk out there and find so much life. And lots of hermit crabs and pelicans.
We WILL go back there one day
