Don't Fence Me In
Don’t worry, I won’t start singing. My mom had a younger brother who passed away at fourteen. This was his favorite song and I’m sure he imagined sitting on a horse whenever he sang it. Ritmo again and I just thought he looked like he was longing for freedom in this photo. I played with the image quite a bit, hope no one minds that. I felt it enhanced the mood that I hope the image reflects.

Thank you, Yasue! You know what is odd is I didn’t add that background, I only darkened it to bring out the cloud detail. Even on the day I shot it, I didn’t realize there was that much detail in the overcast sky.

Thank you so much! I’ve been needing that encouragement lately:) This is Ritmo, he is a stallion at the barn where I lesson. I just found out that everyone is terrified of him. I had no idea I was suppose to be scared or wary, so I wasn’t-ha. He an I are great friends which amazes the other people at the barn. This photo was taken while I was in the paddock with him and totally unaware that he is supposedly fierce….it’s all fake; he’s a sweetie.

He’s a Marchador, the official horse of Brazil. There aren’t very many of them here in the US but they breed them at the barn where I lesson. This guy is my buddy but almost everyone else is terrified of him…I was too dumb to know I was suppose to be and climbed right in the paddock with him:)
